Cheryl Mitchell grew up in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. She worked as a counselor and mentor for both Silicon Valley SCORE and Silicon Valley SBDC in San Jose California. Eventually, she landed as a business consultant for the Small Business Development Center at SCE where she had the opportunity to monitor milestones for a wide-range of starting businesses. From securing their fund to their job creation and retention, their sales growth and their returns of investment and essentially their growth as a business.
She also had the opportunity to share her expertise in marketing development and strategy when she worked for Asthmatx, Inc., Kyphon, Inc., and Perclose, all of which were acquired by Fortune 500.
Early on in her career, Cheryl too worked as a strategic planning analyst for Baxter Renal Division in the Greater Chicago Area and in Brussels, Belgium where her contract was initially intended to be six months. However, due to her success in building relationships despite having to work with people from different races, and her analytical skills needed by her company, she earned two one-year extensions. Expectedly, she got promoted to senior planning analyst in finance where she implemented new forecasting techniques and data analysis.
Initially equipped with a BBA, Business-Finance, Investments and Banking degree from UW-Madison, Cheryl returned to the U.S. from Brussels to complete an MBA, Strategy & General Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
While in grad school, she consulted with a start-up medical device company where she also served as the coach and adviser of the President and CEO.
For the past five years, Cheryl has been working as a business consultant for her very own firm, Your Biz Ninja that helps CEOs of small and medium sized companies with genius products and services to solidify their sales and make money. On top of this is she gets to empower women in the business sector to bring their businesses to greater heights.

Well, besides hiking, reading and mounting a bike as her diversions, she loves to cook and tries to make her way through a farmer’s market, that is, “when the frig is almost empty”, she quips.
