Die you know every day, 6,000 children die of water-related diseases? Young children are the first to get sick and die from waterborne and sanitation-related illnesses—including diarrheal diseases and malaria. Out of 105 million Filipinos, nearly seven million rely on unimproved, unsafe and unsustainable water sources.
Educate the Children
Did you know one in six Filipino kids will not attend school. Further, only seven out of ten kids will complete elementary school. Of those seven kids, only four will complete high school, and of those four,, one will proceed onto university. The main reason for this? Poverty.
Did you know an estimated seven million children across the Philippines currently experience hunger and malnutrition. This problem is largely driven by inadequate access to nutritious food, lack of nutrition education, as well as poor health and sanitation services.
